, ,Job Summary
Reports to the Healthcare Delivery (HCD) Administrator. Ensures and responsible for carrying out medical care programs for children from birth through adolescence to aid in mental and physical growth and development. Examines patients in order to determine presence of disease and establishes preventive health practices. Determines nature and extent of disease or injury, prescribes and administers medications and immunizations, and performs variety of medical duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Provides and carries out medical care programs concerning health of infants, children and teenagers from birth to early adulthood.
• Specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of ailments specific to young people and track their patients’ growth to adulthood.
• Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and allied health professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
• Treats day-to-day illnesses that are common to children—minor injuries, infectious diseases, and immunizations.
• Specializes in serious medical conditions and pediatric surgery, treating autoimmune disorders or serious chronic ailments.
• Incorporates clinical research findings in the development and implementation of standards or care
Education and Experience
1. Graduate of Doctor of Medicine with specialization in pediatrics. Guam license is required
2. Minimum of 3 years experience in planning and carrying out medical care program for children from birth through adolescence to aid in mental and physical growth and development.
3. Current PALS, BLS and CPR certification
4. Experience serving a multinational, multiracial population
5. Experience in supervisory and leadership roles
6. Experience with learning and developmental delay disorders; autism, down syndrome, etc.
7. Must have the appropriate level of behavioral maturity and patience in handling patients.
8. Must have the diplomacy and tact in handling difficult and irate patients.
9. Very good interpersonal relationship skills and can work and relate well with co-employees, patients and customers.
10. Outstanding communication skills and persuasiveness, especially the ability to communicate instructions and procedures for treatments, keeping the patients and giving them the desired level of comfort and confidence.
11. Must have strong sensitivity to the needs and anxieties of patients and the ability to motivate patients to undergo treatments and procedures.
12. Strong ethics and a high level of personal and professional integrity.
13. Knowledgeable of federal, state and local laws and requirements related to healthcare management
